Ponte JK Bridge
Taking a little break
A lion in Brasil-oh my!
Dear Family and Friends,
This has been a very hard week, with every single Brasilian reminding us that the USA is gone from the Cup. But I will continue, even with my broken heart. On a happier note, Brasil killed Chile yesterday 3-0 (poor Elder Jackson). But everyone is really scared now that Brasil will play against Holland. Also, go Spain!
This week was really good. We moved a few things around, so we should baptize 2 families this week. Cristiano & Leyla have been waiting for their marriage papers to arrive and the other family consists of a mom-Rosalia, 2 sons-William-28 and Ygor-14 and a daughter-Sheila-16. So we're really excited for them. Cristiano & Leyla have a daughter-Amanda-15, already baptized and a son, Andrew-7. They are an amazing family that everyone in the ward thinks they are members because they are always at activities and really just love the gospel. They have been waiting for their marriage certificate to arrive for almost 1 month now. In Brasil they have a huge process to get married in the civil, so it is always a long wait if they aren't married.
Yesterday we were in Asa Norte for most of the day because of the game, but there they had some huge fireworks when Brasil scored. Things are pretty tranquil right now. I am glad that everyone had a great time at the family reunion. Mom, I hope you have fun at Girl's Camp.
I attached a few photos. The bridge is Ponte JK, a really cool bridge we can see from Paranoa. Dad, they have Uruguay sandals here if you want a pair. What shoe size are you? They have sandals for each country that has a World Cup title. About the B-day package. I am good for whatever. To be honest, I would be cool with some extra cash to buy a Brasil jersey. Or a USA/Real Salt Lake, but I could get those when I get home. I like candy. I am really good with whatever. I take that back, a memory card for the camera or a larger USB drive. I have a 1 GB memory card and a 4 GB flash drive, so I would like one a little larger.
Love you all,
Elder Barton
P.S. I did not get to go pants shopping today. But I am at 196 lbs. Really cool.
