It is really good to hear how so many good things are going on at home right now. Congrats to Liz and Lindsay and family! That is really exciting. Tell Lucy hello. I also received a letter from Jessica Ellsworth, and congrats to her for graduating high school. Good luck at BYU! Congrats to the Eagle projects also. The pictures of Caleb's were cool.
Today is game day here in Brasil, and everyone is really excited. The funny part is who Brasil will play-North Korea. It is supposed to get really crazy and everything is already shutting down. Game Day is the same as national holiday-but everyone knows whey they are celebrating it.
I am glad to hear the U.S. and England tied. I only saw 3 seconds of the game and I thought that the U.S. jerseys were amazing. I might have to get one when I get back. I didn't see the goal, but I heard it was pretty funny and that it was a miracle. But I am really excited to hear how U.S. has a good chance to advance.
This week I had a new fun thing to eat. I love my rice and beans but now I have a fun new thing to add-bananas. Bananas on rice are actually really good. We had lunch at a member's house, they are from the northeast of Brasil and so the food there was a little bit different. But yeah, bananas are pretty good with rice and beans.
This week was not the best week. We didn't have anyone in church and because of where we are, everyone is throwing a fit, so we are a little stressed out from the constant phone calls on our progress.
When President interviews us, he does it in Portuguese, unless you are really new. It's been 1 year with my call so that was pretty weird. Today is also 2 months to my b-day, which is even weirder, because I just celebrated it.
Hope the reunion is good. Grandma sent an email with pictures of Cameron's baptism. They are all looking great. I didn't know Eric was going to Afghanistan. When does he leave?
Well, life continues here. It is starting to get a little colder here at night and in the mornings, but then it heats back up during the day. The hours of the sun are starting to change, and supposedly, it's winter right now. Kinda cool.
Love,
Elder Barton
