Dear Family and Friends,
This is a letter from a very tired, but very happy Elder Barton. Presidente and Sister Gaertner arrived last week and they are absolutely wonderful people. Very different from Presidente and Sister Pizzirani, but in a very good way. He wanted to meet the missionaries and so we had mission council a little early. Mission council was Friday morning and we found out Thursday morning, so we got on the bus Thursday night at 7:00 and arrived in Brasilia the next day around 8 in the morning. We went to our meetings and then got back on the bus at 7:00 on Friday night and arrived Saturday morning. 24 hours on the bus is not my favorite thing. But it was really great to meet Presidente and Sister. When I walked into the council, Sister saw my name tag and told me that she had something for me. I was a little surprised as she gave me a card, but then it clicked when I saw that it is from President and Sister Taylor. They met them in the MTC and gave a really nice note for Sister Gaertner to give me. So that was very fun.
Sister Pizzirani is the kind of person you would see next to the Queen of England, while Sister Gaertner is the mom who has cookies when you come home from school.
It is so interesting to see how things move, to see how God wants the mission to change with new ideas. Then the week kept going crazy with interviews with Presidente here in Palmas, so we had to get a lot of things together, especially the lunch for 26 people. But we got it! And interviews were wonderful.
That is about it today, we have a lot to do. The zone baptized 6 again, so we are happy, and now we need to keep that going, so we are doing a few planning/leadership projects to keep it going.
With love,
Elder Barton
