Dear Family and Friends,
This past week was a lot of work, that didn't quite have what we wanted. So this week it is back to the drawing board. We had a regional stake conference on Sunday with a broadcast with President Uchtdorf, Elder Anderson and Sister Dalton of the Young Women. It was really good. It was for the 50 stakes of Northern Brasil. They talked a lot about missions, temples, and tithing. It was really good. They talked about how Brasil now has the power to furnish the missionaries for Brasil and send them abroad. All the members have since asked me how I feel to be one of the last Americans to serve in Brasil. And with the visa problems, it might be true.
Christmas call-Noon there and 5:00 here would be great, if you could verify the time differences. I'll receive the call in the elder's quorum president's house. Will be very fun.
I heard from the mission office that the envelope arrived. But the package didn't. But I'm sure it will get here any day. Could you send the package info? The office wants to be able to track it.
This is about it this week. Even though I am really tired, it is really good to be able to continue working.
Congrats to Elder Boshard who gets home this week. I still remember getting the call in my dorm room. Two years has passed very quickly. So congrats to him and his family. I hope everyone enjoys visiting with him.
With Love,
Elder Barton
P.S. I played in the second session of stake conference. Number of people in the 1st session-700. Number of people in the second session-23. But hey, I played in stake conference.
There is a missionary from my stake here that I got to know. Could you do another delivery run? His name is Elder Gabriel Dos Santos Ribeiro-Tokyo Japan Mission. He likes Lemon Heads and Skittles. He is great and already lived in the U.S. His English is really, really good. Thanks.
